"It is with great sadness that we say that our beloved Chris was killed along with his colleague Andrew Bagshaw while attempting a humanitarian evacuation from Solador," Perry's parents and his girlfriend said in a joint statement.

They noted that Perry "found himself in Ukraine in the darkest hour at the beginning of the Russian invasion and helped those who needed it most, saving more than 400 lives and many abandoned animals."

Citizens of Great Britain (Bagshaw also has New Zealand citizenship) came to Ukraine as volunteers.

Bagshaw helped civilians evacuate Bakhmut and delivered food and medicine to the elderly.

Perry organized fundraisers for car repairs, fuel and equipment.

The last time they were seen in Kramatorsk, they were going to go to Solyadar.

The press service of the head of "PVK Wagner"

Yevgeny Prigozhin
