Former Bolivian President

Evo Morales Ayma maintained that progressive and anti-imperialist governments have a duty to protect strategic natural resources

, distribute wealth to face growing inequality, and advance a common currency project for Latin America and the Caribbean.

In turn,

he repudiated the actions of the OAS as an interventionist and destabilizing tool

,

and rejected the economic blockade of the United States against the peoples of Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela

.

“When I came to the Presidency I had problems with some sectors of workers who called themselves 'apolitical'”, recalled the leader.

“Imperialism, capitalism, does not want humble people, workers, peasants and indigenous people to do politics.

But we decided to do politics.

Union independence, ideological pluralism, are a doctrine of imperialism,” he explained.

In turn, he called for unity: "

We have the obligation to organize ourselves, strengthen our social forces and permanently call ourselves to coordinate concrete actions, defend democracy and fundamentally defend our governments

, some are progressive, others socialists, others humanists, but there are to defend the presidents of the anti-imperialist governments of Latin America”.

On behalf of Venezuela, during the press conference the parliamentarian Blanca Eekhout spoke: "We are the ones who can build a different world because we have lived through the barbarism of capitalism, of modernity, of its civilizational scheme, we have the original people who understood that the land she is the mother and we owed ourselves to her.

Today, that worldview of our original peoples is the hope for humanity.”

And he remarked: “We have an obligation to build a different world.

The blockade, the aggression, the demonization and the attempt to divide us, is precisely so that this hope does not run through humanity, but it is impossible because America is one, we are destined to refound it

, to make a nation of free, sovereign and independent republics ”.

Declaration of the Celac Social:

We reject all forms of colonialism or neocolonialism in Latin America and the Caribbean.

We denounce that the NATO base, represented by Great Britain, in the territory usurped from the Argentine Republic, represents a danger for the entire region and is part of a broader and more ambitious Anglo-Saxon dominance device over the region.

We urge the Celac governments to take the necessary measures to peacefully end this situation, under international law.

We reaffirm the legitimate sovereign rights of the Argentine Republic over the Malvinas, South Georgia, South Sandwich Islands and the surrounding maritime spaces and the Argentine Antarctic Sector, in the sense in which it was established once again by Celac in the Special Declaration September 2021.

We repudiate any blockade exercised against any country in the region, and we demand not only the end of the blockades that currently exist, but also the definition of reparation mechanisms for the peoples who suffer from them.

Regarding the case of the 62-year blockade on Cuba, we demand that the US apply the resolution voted thirty times in the United Nations Organization to lift it.

In the year that marks the 200th anniversary of the Monroe Doctrine, we strongly condemn what it implies and any type of interference in our region by the US.

We demand that Celac have a concerted voice regarding the necessary transformations of the international financial architecture and the external debt of the countries.

A New International Financial Architecture is necessary, oriented towards productive development with social inclusion.

This New International Financial Architecture should begin with a strong review of the wild indebtedness process of our countries by financial centers and their speculative agents, as well as designing strategies where the repayment of sovereign debts falls on the economic actors that have benefited of these processes,

We condemn the coups that have taken place in the region.

Recently, the one perpetrated in Peru and the attempt in Brazil.

Likewise, we condemn the recent attempts to assassinate the former president and current vice president of Argentina, Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, and the current vice president of Colombia, Francia Márquez.

We seek to promote regional integration that strengthens the economic independence of Latin America and the Caribbean, reducing external economic constraints based on international insertion and regional agreements that create and strengthen their own productive and technological capacities, in pursuit of a reduction of the development gaps with core countries.

We demand urgent measures to eradicate gender violence.

– We demand the protection of migrants and their families, according to the instruments of international law that govern the region.

We demand the promotion, by the Celac governments, of democratization processes of the judicial powers in Latin America and the Caribbean, which are co-opted by international and local interests that do not correspond to those of our peoples, in order to end to social discipline, the criminalization of poverty, youth and protest, as well as political-judicial persecution or legal war against popular leaders.

We demand the release of all political prisoners in the region, without whose release there is no real democracy.
