Today, the head of the office of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Azerbaijan was invited to the Administration of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and was informed about the biased and untrue statement made by the organization on January 24 about the situation on Lachin Road.

According to the information obtained by APA, the Azerbaijani side emphasized that when our territories were under occupation, various UN organizations shrugged off the legitimate issues raised by Azerbaijan, saying, "We are humanitarian organizations, we do not interfere in political issues."

However, after Azerbaijan liberated its lands from occupation, now the same organizations are busy with political issues, forgetting that they are humanitarian organizations for some reason.

In this regard, such "political activism" of UNFPA, whose mandate consists of issues such as sexual and reproductive health and childbirth, is incomprehensible and unacceptable.

According to another information, Armenia has increased its efforts to send a UN mission to our territories where Russian peacekeepers are temporarily stationed, as well as various UN organizations to provide humanitarian aid.

It turned out that some UN organizations are even conducting discussions in this direction without consulting the Azerbaijani side.

In this regard, it was brought to the attention of the head of the UNFPA office in Azerbaijan that Armenia and its patrons are trying to turn the UN into a political tool in their ugly smear campaign against our country.

The goal of Armenia and its patrons is to enter the sovereign territories of Azerbaijan under the name of humanitarianism and engage in political games there.

The UN, on the other hand, should not become a victim of such dirty games, should protect its independence and impartiality, and end the double standards and selective approach it exhibits in relation to countries.

The Azerbaijani side emphasized that it does not see any role of the UN in our territories where Russian peacekeepers are temporarily stationed and will not allow the UN mission to be sent to our sovereign territories or the activities of various organizations under the name of humanitarian aid.

According to information, the UNFPA official said that Azerbaijan's concerns will be conveyed accordingly.
