When is Saint Nina's day and what is its history

The Orthodox Church honors the memory of Saint Nina every year

on January 27

.

All owners of this charming name also celebrate their birthdays on this day.

According to legend, it was Saint Nina who brought Christianity to Georgia.

She was so devoted to the Christian faith that the Church included her among the saints equal to the apostles.

Nina was born in Cappadocia (today it is the territory of Turkey).

Even in her youth, she studied the Holy Scriptures and was brought up in Jerusalem.

It was there that she learned that in Iveria (Georgia was called that at the time), which was then a pagan country, the Chiton of the Lord was kept.

Then Saint Nina began to pray to the Virgin Mary that the Mother of God would help her find Heaton.

Then the Virgin Mary handed her a heavy wooden cross made of vines and sent her to Iveria.

Nina began to practice Christianity there.

Once a childless couple, thanks to the prayers of the saint, found children.

Pagan idols were overthrown in Georgia thanks to Nina.

There is an ancient prayer to Saint Nina, which helps to heal from all ailments.

It is better to read it in front of the Equal-to-the-Apostles icon.

And it sounds like this:

About the most merciful Nina, About the Bright soul, marked by the Lord God.

I bow my hands before you, I respect you with all my soul.

I am not asking you for coins, I am not asking you for material benefits, but I am asking you to heal me, a slave (slave) of God, possessed by an illness.

Give me this healing, a blessed, peaceful life.

Help me, Saint Nina, to beseech the Son of God, Jesus Christ.

May the holy angels from heaven send down grace.

Let it be so!

Amen!

You need to read this prayer for 40 days, and then go to the temple and defend the service of God.
