The President of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, on an official visit to Argentina, met today with his counterpart from that country, Alberto Fernández.

Through Twitter, the Cuban Presidency reports that the Argentine head of state received Díaz-Canel at the headquarters of the Foreign Ministry, the San Martín Palace.

“I had an endearing meeting with the President of Argentina, Alberto Fernández, to whom I reiterated our congratulations for the role played and the progress he has made at the helm of Celac.

We ratify our willingness to deepen the ties of brotherhood and bilateral ties in areas of common interest," the Cuban president tweeted.

The meeting between the two leaders takes place the day after the VII Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac), in which Argentina ceded the pro tempore presidency to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
