Russia claims that the German-made Leopard 2 tanks are equipped with subcaliber armor-piercing shells with uranium cores, and their use against the Russian military will be regarded as the use of "dirty nuclear bombs."

This was stated by the head of the Russian delegation, Konstantin Gavrilov, in Vienna at the OSCE forum on military security and arms control, RIA Novosti reports.

"We warn the Western sponsors

of the Kyiv military machine against encouraging nuclear provocations and blackmail. We know that the Leopard 2 tank, as well as the Bradley and Marder BMPs, are equipped with sub-caliber armor-piercing shells with uranium cores, which are used in Yugoslavia and Iraq. in the case of delivery of such projectiles for NATO heavy military equipment to Kyiv, we will consider it

as the use of dirty nuclear bombs against Russia with all the consequences that follow

",

Gavrilov imagined that Germany was forced to make a decision about tanks, threatening "international isolation in case of refusal."

Of course, the main role in this was played by the greatest enemy of Russia - the USA.

"At first, the Allies threatened Berlin with international isolation if it refused to hand over the Leopards. Then none other than the representative of the US State Department, Ned Price, announced the "urgent news" about the direction of the German "beast" to Kiev. This is how transatlantic "solidarity" is forged, — said the head of the delegation.

Scholz decided to transfer Leopard to Ukraine

After 11 months of hesitation and under public pressure, the German chancellor decided to transfer modern Leopard 2 combat tanks to Ukraine.

The government made the relevant decision on January 25.

In total, Ukraine is counting on 300 tanks from the Western allies, but it is not yet officially known how many armored vehicles our country will receive.

According to media reports, Western partners will currently deliver 80 Leopard tanks.

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said that Leopard 2 tanks from Germany can be delivered to Ukraine in about three months.

He also added that the training of Ukrainian defenders in the use of tanks will begin very soon.
