The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, believes that there may be a threat of a repeated attack by Belarus.

However, "Ukraine will be surprised if the Belarusian military may be involved in a new attack." 

He said this on January 24 during a joint briefing with the President of Finland. 

Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine will never attack Belarus.

It is now important for our state that the neighboring country preserves its independence and does not get involved in the "shameful war of Russia".

The president added that he would be surprised if "the Belarusian military goes to war against Ukraine." 

"As for the Russian troops, who can find themselves today in any territory of any state, because they believe that they have such, you know, "military Schengen", and therefore, it seems to me, it all depends on the respect of the population of any of any state to its state, as well as the respect of the leadership of one or another state," Volodymyr Zelenskyy explained. 

The President added that "Ukraine is preparing for various challenges." 

The role of Belarus in the war against Ukraine 

On February 24, 2022, a full-scale attack on Kyiv began from the territory of Belarus.

Also, Russia launches missiles at Ukraine from the territory of this state.

Russian occupiers are also stationed in Belarus and receive treatment there. 

On January 24, the self-proclaimed president of Belarus, Oleksandr Lukashenko, said that Kyiv offers to conclude the Minsk Non-Aggression Pact.
