Irakli Kobakhidze, the chairman of the ruling "Georgian Dream" party of Georgia, responded to the statement of the temporary charge d'affaires of Ukraine in this country, Andrey Kasyanov.

APA's Georgia office reports that Kobakhidze noted that Kasyanov's statement was speculative and that Georgia is already used to such statements:

"Kasyanov should evacuate Ukrainians from Georgia so that we send BUKs to Ukraine.

This would be Georgia's direct participation in the military conflict.

Kasyanov called us to join the war, in which case we would have to evacuate not only Ukrainians, but also Georgians from Georgia."

Kobakhidze added that the restoration of direct flights between Georgia and Russia has nothing to do with the influx of Russians.

He emphasized that the suspension of direct flights between the two countries is a unilateral decision taken by Russia, therefore the resumption of flights will also be a unilateral decision.

"I can only say that such a decision (restoration of direct flights - ed.) will benefit millions of Georgians living in the Russian Federation," said Kobakhidze.

It should be noted that Ukraine's Chargé d'Affaires in Georgia, Andrey Kasyanov, told the Ukrainian press that if direct flights between Georgia and Russia are restored, the Ukrainian embassy can apply to international partners and organizations for the evacuation of Ukrainians in Georgia.
