The newly appointed US ambassador to Russia, Lynn Tracy, will arrive in Moscow by the end of January.

APA reports that Ned Price, the head of the press service of the State Department, said this at a briefing held on Tuesday.

"I can confirm that Ambassador Tracy met with Russian Ambassador Anatoly Antonov in Washington. This was an opportunity to discuss with his counterpart. We expect Ambassador Tracy to travel to Russia to present his credentials in the coming days," Price added.

Lynn Tracy will be on the job later this month, he said.

He is currently consulting in Washington.
