[Reporter Cai Zhengmin/Miaoli Report] During the Spring Festival holiday, a large number of strawberry picking and hot spring tourists flooded into Dahu Township and Taian Township of Miaoli County, driving tourism and the economy.

However, the Miaoli Dahu Police reminded people from other places to be careful when traveling. It was only on the afternoon of the 23rd that a vehicle sank into a slope in Dahu Township. They urged the public to pay attention to the road conditions and not to rush into the country roads.

The Dahu police said that there have been a lot of tourists in the area recently, but they received a report on the 23rd that a 35-year-old male Lin and his family were traveling in the Dahu area. The navigation guide showed that there was a shortcut without traffic jams, but he drove on a narrow, steep and winding path. When driving, the left front wheel of the vehicle accidentally fell into the slope outside the road, and the vehicle got stuck and could not move.

Because it was the annual vacation, Lin Nan asked for help from private operators but couldn't find them anywhere, so he had to ask the police for help. After the police contacted a nearby township tow truck to the scene, they helped to tow the vehicle back to the road.

Lin Yanju, director of the Dahu Police Sub-bureau, said that during the New Year’s Eve, all branches (police stations) of the Dahu Police Sub-bureau will accept reports and provide various services for the people, hoping that the public can travel with peace of mind.
