We consider the reason voiced by the UAF press service that television is not planned for this event and that there are already accredited journalists from the media holding, purely formal.

In the current situation, we support the appeal of colleagues - sports journalists.

An open letter from sports journalists of Ukraine to the president of UAF Andriy Pavelko

For more than 5 years, Ukrainian sports journalists have been waiting for the press conference of the head of the Ukrainian Football Association, Andriy Pavelek, in order to get the opportunity to ask frank and relevant questions about the situation in the country's football economy.

During this time, a large number of topics for conversation have accumulated.

That is why the announced meeting with the president of the Ukrainian Football Association, member of the UEFA Executive Committee Andriy Pavelko, which will take place in the House of Football on Tuesday, January 24, caused a stir in the journalistic environment.

However, hopes for a frank conversation, which the main organization of Ukrainian football so badly needs, turned out to be in vain.

A few days before the start of the event, it became known that a "warm bath" was being prepared for Andrii Pavelek in order to avoid sharp questions and topics unpleasant for the head of the UAF - and there are plenty of such.

On the eve of the so-called meeting (the format of the event was not clearly defined), several well-known media persons and all-Ukrainian information resources were refused accreditation for the event under various pretexts.

This shows that Andriy Pavelek's "outing" is more of a propaganda event, which was planned to be carried out in a favorable direction for him, whitewashing the activities of the president of the UAF, even in those cases that are currently under investigation.

In this case, a "press conference" or "meeting" with Andrii Pavelko loses any meaning.

Therefore, we call for a boycott of this event, as some Ukrainian sports media and individual journalists have already done.

The only question that should be asked of Andriy Pavelka in the current situation is the resignation of the current head of the Ukrainian Football Association.
