The Minister of Finance Rositsa Velkova

Rositsa Velkova was born on March 16, 1972 in Sofia.

Acquires a master's degree in finance, participates in the conference "Croatia - the twentieth member of the Eurozone" at the invitation of the Croatian government, announced the press center of the Ministry of Finance.

The Executive Vice-President of the EC Valdis Domborovskis, the Commissioner for Economy Paolo Gentiloni and other representatives of the European institutions, governments and central banks took part in the forum.

Emphasis in the speeches of the representatives of both the Croatian state and the European institutions was that the euro is a tool for improving the welfare of citizens, and according to the Croatian finance minister, the eurozone is a shield in times of crisis.

With its full European integration, Croatia has the opportunity to attract more investments, security of the economy and better competitiveness, EC Vice President Dombrovskis pointed out in his speech.

After the conclusion of the forum, Minister Velkova held a meeting with the Chief State Inspector of the Republic of Croatia Andrija Mikulić.

It discussed the actions of the Croatian authorities to protect consumers, including measures against unjustified price increases for goods and services, as well as dealing with unfair trade practices that have been observed since the introduction of the euro as the official currency.

Minister Velkova familiarized herself with the specific functions of the bodies responsible for controlling the speculative increase in prices, in the context of the preparation of the draft Law on the introduction of the euro in Bulgaria and the distribution of the various control functions according to the powers of the Bulgarian institutions.

In the conversation, it was stated that when imposing sanctions, a balance should be sought between protecting the interests of consumers and not violating market principles.
