Oleksiy Arestovich

Oleksiy Arestovych, a former freelance adviser to the Office of the President of Ukraine, opened the dismissal marathon.

This happened after his scandalous statement regarding a rocket attack on a high-rise building in Dnipro.

Thus, in an interview with Russian journalist Mark Feigin, Arestovich suggested that the alleged tragedy in the Dnipro on January 14 was caused by the downing of a Russian missile by anti-aircraft weapons of the Armed Forces.

Later, the OPU adviser added that he was "told about this by a comrade, a former PPOshnyk", who was "walking down the street at the time of the shooting".

"He told me that he 100% heard two explosions and recognized the first one as the work of air defense."

Arestovych's statement was immediately circulated by Russian propaganda to demonstrate that "representatives of the Ukrainian side admitted their guilt" in the tragedy.

This comment of Arestovych was immediately denied by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

They emphasized that a residential building in Dnipro, where several dozen innocent Ukrainians died, was bombed by a Russian Kh-22 missile fired from a Tu-22 bomber from the Kursk region of the Russian Federation.

In turn, Arestovych excused himself, saying that he was "radically tired" and warned that his "assumptions about the anti-aircraft missile are only a version that still needs to be verified."

In the end, on January 17, the OPU adviser admitted that he had "made a serious mistake live" and resigned.

Vasyl Lozynskyi

On January 21, Deputy Minister of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure, Vasyl Lozynsky, was detained on suspicion of embezzlement of state funds.

The official was caught red-handed simply while receiving a bribe in the amount of 400,000 US dollars.

"He was detained while receiving an illegal benefit in the amount of 400,000 US dollars. He received these funds for assistance in concluding contracts for the purchase of equipment and machinery," the NABU said in a statement.

The detectives said that in the summer of 2022, the Cabinet of Ministers allocated 1.68 billion hryvnias for the restoration of critical infrastructure facilities and providing the population with light, heat and water supply in winter.

Instead, a number of officials appropriated part of the state funds.

"Officials concluded contracts with entrepreneurs at inflated prices. The business, in turn, had to hand over to the officials 280 million hryvnias for the "victory" in the tenders, which was the difference between the real and purchase cost of the services," the law enforcement officers said.

Immediately after the exposure, Lozynskyi was dismissed from his post.

The investigation is currently ongoing.

The petition regarding Lozynskyi is being heard in the High Anti-Corruption Court.

Shortly after Lozynskyi's corruption scandal, his colleague Ivan Lukerya, the Deputy Minister of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine, also resigned.

True, he stated that he made such a decision at the beginning of the year, but due to political and bureaucratic circumstances, the legal registration coincided with the week of "big layoffs".

Vyacheslav Negoda

Soon after that, it became known that one of the "fathers" of the decentralization reform in Ukraine - the third deputy minister of community development, territories and infrastructure - Vyacheslav Negoda, resigned.

He also did not inform about the reason for such a decision.

"Every important business has its own marathon and team, its own start and finish. Today, I want to thank everyone with whom we overcame obstacles to change/improve life in communities and strengthen the country. It was difficult, but we broke patterns, convinced, because believed in success. This is not the time and place to make any reports," Negoda wrote on his Facebook.

Kyrylo Tymoshenko

On January 24, the deputy head of OP Kyrylo Tymoshenko announced his resignation.

In his Telegram message, he expressed his gratitude to his family, Ukrainians, colleagues and, above all, to the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi.

Separately, he emphasized his gratitude to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, for the fact that they saved and are now defending our country.

However, the deputy head of the OP did not say a word about the reason for his dismissal.

It should be noted that recently in the Office of the President, Kyrylo Tymoshenko was responsible for regional policy, communication with the heads of regional military administrations and mayors of cities, as well as for the "Great Construction" program and the reconstruction of the country.

Oleksiy Simonenko

The Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine, Oleksiy Symonenko, also got involved in a scandal that led to his dismissal.

Thus, it became known that the high-ranking official spent his 10-day vacation in Spain despite the direct prohibition of President Volodymyr Zelenskyi, expressed during an address to the parliament in December 2022.

This became known from the photos of Simonenko's wife, which she posted on her Instagram.

For this, Symonenko paid with his position.

"General Prosecutor Andriy Kostin has signed an order on voluntary dismissal from the administrative position of Deputy Prosecutor General Oleksiy Symonenko," the Prosecutor General's Office reported.

Vyacheslav Shapovalov

The Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, who was responsible for the rear support of the Armed Forces, Vyacheslav Shapovalov, also resigned after the scandal involving the purchase of products for the Armed Forces.

He asked for his release so as not to "create a threat to the stable provision of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as a result of the campaign of accusations related to the procurement of food services."

Earlier, information appeared in the mass media that the Ministry of Defense allegedly significantly inflates prices when purchasing food for the military.

The Ministry of Defense immediately denied such information and declared that it was "a lie and manipulation."

The Ministry of Defense added that it would contact the SBU about the material on food procurement.

Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov provided a detailed comment on this matter.

He emphasized that journalists are allegedly manipulating information, and there was a "technical error" in the procurement data.

In addition, he noted that information about the abuse was published on the eve of the meeting in the format of Rammstein.

At the same time, after the scandal with the procurement of the Ministry of Defense, Zelensky

 announced an audit and investigation

.

In turn, NABU reported that their detectives investigated the purchase of food products for the Armed Forces at inflated prices even before the publication of materials in the mass media.

Leaders of the OVA

The local authorities were not spared the purges either.

Thus, at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on January 24, a number of personnel decisions were adopted, in particular, five heads of regional military administrations were dismissed:

  • Valentina Reznichenko – Dnipropetrovsk OVA;

  • Oleksandra Starukha – Zaporizhia OVA;

  • Oleksiy Kulebu – Kyiv OVA;

  • Dmytro Zhivytskyi - Sumy OVA;

  • Yaroslav Yanushevich - Kherson OVA.

At the same time, Oleksiy Sobolev was appointed to the post of Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine.

During the meeting, Deputy Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine Vitaly Muzychenko was also dismissed from his post.

It should be noted that such events took place after Zelenskyi's announcement regarding high-profile personnel purges in the government.

Mykhailo Podolyak, adviser to the head of the President's Office, added that the president of Ukraine responds to the key demand of society - justice for all - with his personnel decisions.
