Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov emphasized the importance of the measures taken to create a transport corridor from the Eastern Zangezur Economic Region of Azerbaijan to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic at the meeting of the heads of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Economic Cooperation Organization held in Tashkent.

APA reports that the minister pointed out that the Zangezur corridor will be of special importance for the development of cooperation between all the countries of the region.

During his speech, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov talked about the restoration and reconstruction works carried out in the territories freed from occupation by Azerbaijan during the post-conflict period, and gave detailed information about the measures taken to create a Green Energy zone and Free Economic Zones in the said territories.

In addition to the above, detailed information was provided on the work carried out by our country in the field of energy security, the development of green energy resources of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between our country and the European Union in July of last year, as well as the construction of an electric power cable between Azerbaijan-Georgia-Romania-Hungary under the Black Sea. It was stated that the construction project will contribute to further expansion of cooperation in the region.
