Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikova Vyacheslav Shapovalov resigned after the scandal involving the purchase of products for the Armed Forces.

supported Shapovalov's request for his release and submitted a corresponding submission to the Cabinet of Ministers.

This was announced on the website of the Ministry of Defense on January 24.

It is noted that Vyacheslav Shapovalov was responsible for the rear support of the Armed Forces.

The official asked for his release so as not to "create a threat to the stable provision of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as a result of the campaign of accusations related to the procurement of food services."

The Ministry of Defense thanked Vyacheslav Shapovalov for his efficient work and reminded that in his position he was able to achieve many positive changes, to demonopolize the food service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and to implement a number of reforms.

"The Ministry of Defense adheres to the principle of zero tolerance for corruption, respects democratic control and will ensure absolute transparency for conducting any inspections by authorized bodies," the ministry added.
