On Tuesday, January 24, an accomplice of the former Deputy Minister of Community Development, Vasyl Lozynskyi, was taken into custody with the possibility of bail in the amount of UAH 805,200. 

This was reported by the High Anti-Corruption Court. 

"The investigating judge of the Higher Anti-Corruption Court partially satisfied the request of the NABU detective and imposed a preventive measure on the alleged accomplice in the form of detention with an alternative of bail in the amount of UAH 805,200," the report says. 

The suspect will be in custody until March 21, 2023.

On January 21, Deputy Minister of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure, Vasyl Lozynsky, was detained on suspicion of embezzlement of state funds.

The official was caught red-handed simply while receiving a bribe in the amount of 400,000 US dollars.

According to detectives, the Cabinet of Ministers allocated 1.68 billion hryvnias for the restoration of critical infrastructure facilities and providing the population with light, heat and water supply in winter.

Instead, a number of officials appropriated part of the state funds.
