Germany will allow other states and will itself transfer modern Leopard battle tanks to Ukraine in the number of not dozens, but hundreds of units.

This was announced by the adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Mykhailo Podolyak, on the "1+1" telethon within the telethon "Yedini Novyny".

" They

will definitely be

. In any case. There will be enough tanks. Today, almost everyone under the auspices of the president is engaged in negotiations at various venues. Today, there is a clear understanding by almost all the leaders of our various partner countries that the tanks must be transferred to Ukraine.

This is not a question dozens, but hundreds

. This is a matter of logistics, some correct legal points, so that we get the Leopard tank as a priority," said the adviser to the head of the OP.

"The tanks will be there, Germany will make the appropriate decisions. The countries clearly fix their position. Today, by the way, Stoltenberg said that Germany will still agree to the supply of tanks and will do it itself.

It's a matter of a few days

," Podolyak added.

He also explained why Germany acts hesitantly in the issue of tanks for Ukraine.

This is not about fear of Russia.

"For Germany, this is a very difficult internal issue, because they cannot yet understand the historicity of this moment. Unfortunately,

they have a very dark spot in history - World War II

, and there is a negative image in history. And after that, if they refused the role of a European leader. And history is very capricious and does strange things. Today, it gives Germany this chance to close the negative page of its history with a positive one, to become not a country that destroyed freedom in Europe in the middle of the 20th century, but to become a country that at the beginning of the 21st protected freedom. For this, you need to change your inner feeling - why should you do it," explained the adviser to the head of the presidential office.

He noted that it is very difficult to do this, "because it breaks everything that they have lived and taken care of for the last 70 or 80 years."

According to Podoliak, another component of Germany's indecision with tanks for Ukraine is

the Russian lobby

, which was very powerfully concentrated in Germany.

"Germany made it possible to do compatible businesses, to form monopolies, to invest in the cultural and information space. Moreover, many representatives of the German political elite were taken as members of the supervisory boards of large Russian companies. In 2007, Germany made its key, fatal mistake: it said that Russia is an integral part of Europe, Russia must be integrated into Europe, we must be very, very friendly with Russia. Today they

cannot understand that this pre-war time is over

," said the adviser to the OP chairman.

He is convinced that all barriers will be broken by Germany and an effective partnership will appear in Ukraine with it, it will be an anti-Putin coalition.

It will be recalled that the German publication Spiegel reported on January 24 that the German federal government agreed to grant permission to other countries to export Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine.

Officially, the authorities of the Federal Republic of Germany have not yet commented on this.

Earlier, Western mass media, citing a Ukrainian official, reported that 20 countries have already agreed to transfer about 100 Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine if the German government agrees.

President of Finland Sauli Niinisto announced on January 24 that his country is discussing the possibility of creating a powerful division of Leopard tanks in Europe for Ukraine.
