High-ranking US officials are advising Ukraine not to launch a counteroffensive until it receives the last shipment of American weapons and Ukrainian military personnel undergo appropriate training.

In an interview with TSN.ua, military analyst and veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war Oleksiy Hetman told how ready Ukraine is for a counteroffensive and when it might happen.

"They (high-ranking US officials - ed.) say the right thing, but in our Armed Forces everything happens a little differently. It is not quite right to start offensive actions before we receive the equipment of Western partners, because there will be unnecessary losses on our side, we " Hetman said.

The military expert noted that, indeed, it takes a certain amount of time to master this technique, but not the kind of time usually used by American or other NATO military personnel, because they have certain protocols and procedures.

And in the Armed Forces they do not do that, at least during the war.

"We from the wheels can put this equipment into service and from the wheels use it immediately. We can very quickly master it. Conventionally speaking, even during hostilities we can do it very quickly. I think that on the one hand they (high-ranking US officials - ed.) rightly say that we need to wait until there is additional equipment. Of course, when there will be a lot of heavy equipment, it will be easier for us. On the other hand, let's not give instructions to our Zaluzhny, he understands very well how it is do the right thing, and when he and our General Staff plan to take offensive actions, then we will do it," he emphasized.

According to the veteran, it is not very correct to link offensive actions exclusively to the equipment that the Western allies will provide us, or maybe not, or maybe they will provide, but not in that amount.

"I think that our servicemen have already understood everything that is happening and what can be expected. Therefore, they will be very grateful for help, but I am sure that they are planning, including offensive actions, without this help. What the president very carefully said Zelensky: "Well, no, no.

We'll win anyway." I think that's exactly what he hinted at," Oleksiy Hetman summed up.

We will remind, within a few hours, the Armed Forces shot down two Su-25 aircraft, a Ka-52 helicopter, missiles and a drone that attacked Ukraine.
