Poland will ask Germany for permission to send Leopard tanks to Ukraine.

APA reports with reference to "Associated Press" that the Prime Minister of Poland, Mateusz Morawiecki, said this at the press conference held in Poznan.

Moravietski did not say when the request will be made to Germany.

He said that Poland is building a coalition of countries that are ready to send Leopards.

"We will ask permission (from Germany), but this is a secondary issue. In the end, even if we do not get this permission, we will hand over our tanks to Ukraine together with others, even if Germany is not in this small coalition," the Polish Prime Minister added.

He also commented on German Foreign Minister Berbock's opinion that his country will not stand in the way of Poland.

He said that the words of Annalena Berbock gave rise to a "spark of hope" that Germany could even participate in the coalition.

"We are constantly putting pressure on the Berlin government to make their Leopards available," the Prime Minister said.

According to Moravietsky, Germany has "more than 350 active tanks, and about 200 Leopard tanks in military storage."

It should be noted that the Ukrainian government appealed to international partners for the supply of these tanks, stressing that tanks, especially German-made "Leopards" are of vital importance to defeat the Kremlin's forces.
