This is a classic example of a perfidious way of distracting attention from our European future.

Everything that happens matters.

This is not a match in which "Pelister" and "Vardar" are playing, this is our future, said the Prime Minister of the Republic of North Macedonia Dimitar Kovacevski on the occasion of the beating of the secretary of the association "Tsar Boris Treti" in Ohrid Hristiyan Pendikov.

"I do not approve of any violence and I have always condemned it.

Just as I will condemn and oppose any provocation, coming from within or without, that hurts the feelings of Macedonians and that causes anxiety among our citizens.

For me, such provocations are unacceptable.

It is clear to me that there is tension and there are many legitimate questions both about the events that happened last week, but also about events from the past period.

Regarding the incident, I am satisfied that the institutions reacted quickly and that the Ministry of Internal Affairs was able to immediately find the attackers, and I believe that the whole case will be resolved quickly," Kovacevski said.

Donev to Kovachevski: The authorities should take the necessary measures to protect the Bulgarians in the RSM

He was adamant that he will not allow the Republic of North Macedonia to deviate from its path to the EU and will insist that "this problem be solved in the fastest way".

"Those who initiated the events do not want to see the Republic of North Macedonia in the EU.

We must remain calm and reasonable, but we must not be naive.

This summer I did not sit, but negotiated in Brussels with 27 EU member states.

Now we see how the committed violence affects everything done and practically hijacks our international and European future", Kovacevski pointed out.

He called on the opposition to reconsider its position after information appeared in the media in North Macedonia that "their members and sympathizers are mentioned as being connected to the events of last weekend and the events before that."
