The Deputy Chief of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense, Vadym Skibitskyi, spoke about the enemy's new tactics of launching missile attacks on Ukraine and specified where the S-400 was launched over Kyiv.

He said this in an interview with Ukrinform.

So, Skibitsky clarified that the capital was not fired upon from Belarus, but from the territory of the Russian Federation.

"The launches were carried out from the territory of the Russian Federation, this is the first thing. And secondly, the shortage of high-precision cruise missiles, such as the Kalibr, Kh-101 and Kh-555 forced the Russian Federation to use anti-aircraft missiles for attacks. They have undergone modernization, we understand which one exactly. It is possible that another combat unit will be deployed there in the future," he explained.

Moreover, the deputy chief of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense added that the enemy has up to 7,000 such missiles.

"They have such missiles since the time of the Soviet Union, according to our calculations from 6 to 7 thousand. These missiles are already 30-35-40 years old. That is, they are being disposed of and, at the same time, the deficit in high-precision weapons is covered. Modernization allows them to be used at least at a range of 250 kilometers. These are, in fact, the same "Iskanders" or other long-range weapons," Skibitsky noted.

Shelling of Ukraine with anti-aircraft missiles

We will remind you that during the massive Russian missile attack on Ukraine on January 14, the enemy first used S-400 missiles to attack Kyiv.

Previously, the Russian Federation had already used missiles for the S-300 complex in this way.

With them, the Russian Federation, in particular, shelled the Donetsk, Luhansk, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv regions.

At the same time, as experts emphasize, Ukrainian air defense systems, in particular Soviet-style ones, cannot shoot down missiles of this type.

However, the S-400 and S-300 can be shot down by the modern Patriot anti-aircraft missile system, three of which Western partners have promised to provide to Ukraine.
