When Russian General Valery Gerasimov came to command, he first of all decided to bring order to routine discipline in the army, and this causes complaints.

As noted in British intelligence, these measures were met with skepticism in the Russian army.

So, the demands for military personnel to shave more often caused the most ridicule.

In particular, representatives of the so-called "Donetsk People's Republic" called such priorities a "farce" that "will hinder the process of destroying the enemy."

Yevgeny Prigozhin criticized the military leadership and the owner of Wagner's proxy group, saying that "war is a time of active and brutal, not clean-shaven."

British analysts note that Russian forces continue to experience an operational stalemate and significant losses.

"Gerasimov's prioritization of mostly minor regulatory acts is likely to confirm the fears of many of his skeptics in Russia. Along with Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, he is increasingly perceived as indifferent and focused on show rather than substance," says British intelligence.

We will remind, on Wednesday, January 11, the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Serhii Shoigu appointed the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, General

Valery Gerasimov

,  as the new commander of the United Group of Russian Forces in Ukraine.

In this position, he will replace General Serhiy Surovikin.

Mykhailo Podolyak, adviser to the head of the President's Office, said that the appointment of Gerasimov as the commander of the "special military operation" in Ukraine

does not affect the course of the war in Ukraine

The Ministry of Defense of Great Britain believes that the appointment of Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov as the commander of the "special military operation" in Ukraine

indicates a change in the approach of Russian President Vladimir Putin to the conduct of war
