Jammu:

Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh said on Sunday that despite the removal of Article-370 from Jammu and Kashmir, terrorism has still not ended here.

Singh said the recent terrorist attacks, including at Dangri village in Rajouri district, are worrying.

The former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh made this remark after meeting the victims of terrorism at the Government Medical College Hospital in Jammu.

During this, Singh was accompanied by senior party leader Jairam Ramesh and chief spokesperson of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee Ravindra Sharma.

Digvijay Singh told reporters, “First of all we condemn the terrorist attacks in Dangri village of Rajouri and Narwal in Jammu.

The situation in Jammu and Kashmir is not what was being told after the removal of Article 370.

Targeted killings and bomb blasts have started once again.

Significantly, seven people of a particular community were killed in the twin terrorist attack in Dangri village of Rajouri on January 1 and 2, while nine people were injured in the twin blasts in Narwal, Jammu on Saturday.

Singh said, “A person injured in the attack in Dangri village has become disabled for life and the government has given him only one lakh rupees.

We want a permanent rehabilitation policy for such victims so that they can spend their lives without depending on anyone.

He said, "We do not want to take political advantage of these worrying incidents but cannot ignore one fact that even after the removal of Article 370, terrorism is alive in Jammu and Kashmir."

The Congress leader said that divisive politics is neither in the interest of Hindus nor Muslims.

He said, "This country belongs to all of us and we want to work together for the country."

He said that the Congress delegation had gone to the hospital on behalf of Rahul Gandhi.
