The Hsinchu City Government recommends that there are six major temples that must be worshiped during the Lunar New Year in Zhushi. Among them, the City God’s Temple in Hsinchu City is the highest-ranking City God in the whole Taiwan. The Civil Affairs Office of the city government stated that Hsinchu City has the highest-ranking City God Temple in Hsinchu City. Tiangong Temple in Hsinchu, formerly known as Jinque Temple, was built during the Qianlong period and is dedicated to the Jade Emperor. There is also a 25.16-meter-high stone-carved nine-dragon pillar on the bank of Keya River, which is the most distinctive landmark of Tiangong Temple.

The traditional custom is that Xiao’an is an important day of worshiping Tiangong, and people pray on this day for good weather, peace and prosperity.

Hsinchu Zhulian Temple, commonly known as "Hsinchu Guanyin Pavilion", is dedicated to Guanyin Bodhisattva. Many ancient relics from the Qing Dynasty are preserved in the temple, especially the three clay sculptures of golden Guanyin mothers in the main hall are the most precious. The Golden Plaque bestowed by the Great Sea Mercy Cloud is the most spectacular, and it is full of incense no matter during the Spring Festival or on weekdays.

Hsinchu Changhe Palace is located on Beimen Street. It was built outside the north gate of Zhuchi in the 7th year of Qianlong (1742), so it is commonly known as Wai Mazu. The water suburban association organized by the ship merchants respectfully invited the golden body of Mazu to escort Mazu Temple in Meizhou. According to legend, after the death of Mazu in the 4th year of Emperor Yongxi of Song Dynasty (987), the hair left by Mazu was divided into three parts and made into three soft statues. The statue of the body god, the soft body statue of the third mother of the Mazu Temple in Meizhou, which is enshrined in the main hall of the Changhe Palace, has a hair bun that comes from the real body of Mazu, which is very precious.

Hsinchu Guandi Temple is located on Nanmen Street. It was founded in the 41st year of Qianlong. There are 108 doornails in the form of studs. On the walls on both sides of the main hall, there are steles of immortality and immortality erected in the 42nd year of Qianlong and the stele of Guandi Temple built by the tripod, which are of great historical value.

Hsinchu Putian Temple is located in Guqifeng, Hsinchu City. Guan Sheng Di Jun is also the God of Martial Fortune. Technologists near the Science Park often come to worship and pray for wealth.
