Military expert Oleg Zhdanov believes that the transfer of

F-16 to

Ukraine is a matter of time.

He expressed this opinion to the UNIAN publication.

"So, the issue of the transfer of the F-16 is just a matter of time. And, as far as I understand, a matter of the near future. It could be a few weeks or a few months. But as Lloyd Austin said, the window of opportunity is until the spring. So I think that, most likely, by spring we will receive Western aviation as part of the Defense Forces of Ukraine," he said.

Zhdanov also reminded of Britain's readiness to transfer ATACMS missile analogues to Ukraine, which can be used with HIMARS rocket launchers.

"If we get aviation and missiles, we will complete the entire list of weapons that we need to win this war," the expert added.

It will be recalled that the US ambassador to the OSCE, Michael Carpenter, assured that the decision of the Netherlands to transfer its F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine

will meet with broad support in the United States.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on allies to discuss the supply of fighter jets and long-range missiles to Ukraine during the next Ramstein-style meeting.

F-16 is a

multipurpose light fighter developed by General Dynamics in the USA.

In 1993, the company sold its aircraft construction business to Lockheed Martin.
