The spring and early summer of 2023 will be decisive in the full-scale

war

launched by the Russian Federation under the leadership of dictator Vladimir Putin.

The main battlefield will be in Donbas.

This was stated by the representative of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense Vadym Skibitsky in an interview with Delfi.ee.

Speaking about the new alleged attack, Skibitsky expressed doubt that the invaders would leave Belarus.

But he is convinced that this possible offensive by the Russian Federation will fail and this will lead to the collapse of Russia and its dictator Putin, in particular.

"Spring and early summer will be decisive in the war. If the big Russian offensive planned for this time fails, it will be the downfall of Russia and Putin... When spring and early summer are behind us, maybe we can start talking about the end of the war." - said in Skibitskyi.

To a clarifying question, what is the probability that the war will end in 2023, Skibitskyi said that it is necessary to pass the spring and the beginning of summer first.

"We must pass the first stage - spring and early summer. We see what this war is leading to: the Russian military leadership has changed, the first stage of mobilization has ended, the Russian army is regrouping. Our assessment is simple: the main activity of the Russian army will unfold in the Donetsk and Luhansk areas." , - he said.

Skibitsky noted that the occupiers were unable to fulfill their main task, with which they started the so-called "special military operation" - to completely capture the Ukrainian Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

"

In approximately February-March, there will be battles for these regions, the Russians will try to take control of Kupyansk, Svatove, Kreminna in the direction of Kharkiv region.

The main battlefield will be in Donbas,

this is confirmed by the battles for Bakhmut and Soledar," he concluded.

It will be recalled that the Minister of Defense Oleksiy Reznikov stated that Ukraine is preparing for a potential large-scale attack by Russia in the spring.

According to Polish General Waldemar Skzypchak,

Russia can attack Ukraine from its own territory,

and the Belarusian direction will only divert attention.

In his opinion, the Russian Federation can strike from the direction of Voronezh, Kursk, and Bryansk, moving from there in a southern direction, west of Kharkiv, along the Vorskla River, which flows into the Dnipro.

Under this scenario, Poltava and Dnipro are under attack.

Israeli military historian Martin van Creveld warned that

"there must be a big battle.

In two or three months we will expect a big war, and no one knows how it will end."

He emphasized that NATO countries must act quickly, because there is no time for discussion - the time has come for concrete actions.

In turn, the spokesman of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense Andriy Yusov said that the intelligence estimates about the possibility of victory in the 2023 war remain unchanged, and the state has a sober and adequate understanding of the situation and its capabilities.

Yusov emphasized that despite the complexity of the tasks, the

Ukrainians are liberating their own territories at a great cost.
