The supply of weapons to Ukraine will lead to a "global catastrophe".

This was stated by the speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Vyacheslav Volodin.

"If Washington and NATO countries deliver weapons that will be used to launch attacks on peaceful cities and attempts to seize "our" territories, as they threaten, this will lead to retaliatory measures with the use of more powerful weapons," he said.

In his opinion, the decisions of Washington and Brussels are "leading the world to a terrible war" and "completely different hostilities".

"Given the technological superiority of Russian weapons, foreign politicians who make such decisions need to understand that this could end in a global tragedy that will destroy their countries," Volodin added.

It will be recalled that Medvedev said that Russia's loss in a full-scale war with Ukraine would trigger the start of a nuclear war.

In particular, Medvedev's threats were sounded on the eve of the meeting of the contact group on the defense of Ukraine at the Ramstein airbase, which took place on January 20.

"Nuclear states have not lost major conflicts on which their fate depends. This should be obvious to any person. Even a Western politician who has preserved at least some traces of intelligence," he said.

Mykhailo Podolyak, adviser to the head of the President's Office, responded to Medvedev's nuclear blackmail.

Podolyak said that he doubts whether Medvedev has ever seen the "nuclear button" because he recklessly scatters threats.

"They definitely didn't put it in his hands, because it's not just a monkey with a grenade, it's an infusion in shoes. They were probably afraid to entrust him with such a mission. But again, who's talking about what, and when Medvedev gets to the keyboard, he starts talking about nuclear threats ", Podolyak noted.
