Foreign media reported that White House chief of staff Crane will resign in the next few weeks.

[Compiled Lin Yuxuan/Comprehensive Report] White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain is rumored to hand in his resignation in the next few weeks and is currently looking for a replacement.

The New York Times quoted a senior administration official as saying that since the mid-term election in November last year, Crane has privately told colleagues that he has been working with Biden since the 2020 presidential election and has been working relentlessly to handle the heavy workload and is now ready. Switching lanes, possibly resigning after Biden's Feb. 7 State of the Union address.

Agence France-Presse reported that the timing of Crane's resignation coincided with an important moment in Biden's tenure, because the 80-year-old Biden may announce in the next few weeks whether he will run for re-election in 2024.

Crane served as Biden's chief of staff for two years, the longest tenure of any Democratic president's first chief of staff in nearly half a century.
