A taxi driver was killed and a passenger in the car was slightly injured in a serious accident in Sofia this morning, BNT reported.

The tragic incident happened around 5:00 a.m. at the intersection of Cherni Vrah Boulevard and Lubotrun Street.

It is believed that the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed first into a street pole and then into a building in the area.

Police teams were dispatched to the scene.

The reasons for the accident are being clarified.
