A Ryanair plane traveling from Poland to Athens landed safely in the Greek capital after the pilot reported a bomb threat during the flight, an airport spokesman said today, quoted by DPA.

"All the people are fine and safe," said Elena Dimopoulou, a spokeswoman for the airport.

"The plane took off from the Polish city of Katowice with about 190 people on board," she said.

Special police units checked the plane and the luggage.

Greek state radio ERT reported that after the pilot called about the threat, fighter-bombers were dispatched and escorted the plane until it landed safely, BTA reported.
