The deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Maryana Bezugla reported that the inflated prices for purchases from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine concern not only food products.

The deputy wrote about this on Facebook.

"Regarding purchases by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine: such markups are not only for food. And the set of questions is not limited to whether the ministry can purchase Chinese drones. ", she noted.

Bezugla also added that because of the scandal of the National Security, Defense and Intelligence Council, the leadership of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine was summoned.

She clarified that the meeting will be closed to the public.

What is known about the scandal with the purchase of food for the military

On January 21, the mass media learned that officials of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine purchase food products for military personnel two to three times more expensive than in Kyiv stores.

During the investigation, the journalists refer to the agreement of the Ministry of Defense on the purchase of food.

The current contract in the amount of UAH 13 billion was concluded by the Ministry of Defense with Active Company LLC.

This company has a charter capital of one thousand hryvnias.

In 2021, the tax service revoked this company's VAT certificate due to the lack of supplies and failure to submit declarations.
