Former commander of the US forces in Europe, General Ben Godges, called on the West to provide Ukraine with long-range weapons that will protect Kyiv from Russian S-300 and S-400 missiles.

Ben Hodges, ex-commander of the US Army in Europe, said this in an interview with NV.

According to him, Russia actually has a protected rear zone, since Ukraine does not have weapons that can hit that far.

Therefore, he called on the allies to provide Ukraine with

ATACMS missiles and Great Eagle drones.

"Because we didn't provide anything more long-range than volley fire systems, we effectively created a safe zone for the Russians beyond 90 kilometers.

It effectively creates a rear beyond 90 kilometers.

So, of course, I think we should do that. That is why ATACMS and small aerial bombs, Great Eagle drones are the systems that will help Ukraine defend itself and hit the objects from which Russia carries out attacks against innocent Ukrainian people," the general emphasized.

We will remind, on January 14, Russia hit Kiev with missiles of the S-400 complex.

Yuriy Ignat, the spokesman of the Air Force Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, said that the enemy missiles were launched from the Bryansk region.

The Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Kyrylo Tymoshenko, said that the Russian occupiers launched

an attack on critical infrastructure facilities.

It also became known that in the Holosiivskyi district,

rocket debris fell on a non-residential area

, and a fire broke out there.
