Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlud Çavuşoğlu harshly criticized the action to be held today in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden.

APA reports that Çavuşoğlu spoke about this in his statement to the media.

"Yesterday, we called the Swedish ambassador in Ankara to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and gave the necessary warning. Our ambassador in Stockholm met with the Swedish foreign minister and conveyed our views on this issue.

No one can call this freedom of thought or expression.

Today, they do not allow the burning of another religious book, but when it comes to the "Holy Qur'an" or hostility to Islam, they quickly say freedom of expression and freedom of thought.

Hate crime and racism are not freedom of thought," the Turkish Foreign Minister said.

Çavuşoğlu added that this is not the case according to Swedish laws, the Convention of the Council of Europe, and the European Court of Human Rights:

"However, it is a pity that despite all our warnings, this was allowed. We think that such a disgusting action will be held today around 16:00-17:00 Turkish time. I hope that by that time the Swedish authorities will take the necessary measures and not give it an opportunity. Because this will be a disgusting, despicable action that will cause anger all over the world."
