Shashi Tharoor said- Two people can have different views in a democracy.

Jaipur:

Asserting that there is some factionalism in every political party, senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor said here on Saturday that leaders should look at the larger picture and focus on collective goals.

Tharoor's remarks came amid the ongoing power struggle between Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot.

Speaking on the sidelines of the Jaipur Literature Festival here, Shashi Tharoor said, "Is there such a monolithic political party in India?"

Are there no ideological differences within the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party)?

In a democracy, two people may have different views, but if you have one ideology and are fighting for the common cause, then what the party says, that is what happens.

He said, “It is true that there are some small factions in every party, but the big thing is that we all are against the BJP.

These are small things compared to the bigger issues."

On Friday, Sachin Pilot indirectly attacked Ashok Gehlot and said that the elders should think about the younger generation and the youth should get justice.

Referring to the resignation of New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, Pilot said Ardern was appointed to the top post eight years ago, but left the position because of her declining public approval and instead chose to work for her party. decided.

Earlier, a video surfaced in which the Chief Minister of Rajasthan is allegedly saying that a 'big corona' has entered the party after the pandemic.

It is believed that Gehlot had allegedly compared the pilot to the coronavirus.

Responding to a question about the history of such sledging by politicians at each other, Shashi Tharoor advised his colleagues to be careful with their words.

He said, “When we talk about our allies, we should use our words thoughtfully.

I am proud that in my political life of 14 years, I have never spoken such a word to anyone.

A couple of times, I said that I prefer not to step in the mud.

He said, “Therefore, I appeal to my colleagues that it is not right to talk about our brothers and sisters like this.

Of course, he can say his words in a different way and can say a lot in private.

Tharoor, MP from Thiruvananthapuram, also commented on the 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' and said that it has "restored the image of Rahul Gandhi".

He said, “The whole Pappu business was running on three allegations, first that he would announce a dharna one day and run away abroad the next day.

Here now he is firmly standing and has been running continuously for 160 days.

Now you can't do all those useless things.

Tharoor said, “The second allegation was that he is an arrogant, pompous type of person, difficult to reach and not likeable.

All types of people, people of all classes have now reached him.

He talks to her, holds her hand and walks with her.

The Congress leader said the third allegation was that he was not a serious politician, "Now see, he held dozens of press conferences, how many press conferences did the Prime Minister hold?"

All the allegations leveled against Rahul Gandhi have scattered in the air.

Now he is a man who has been completely changed by the journey.
