Salvador Valdés Mesa, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba and Vice President of the Republic, continues today the check-up of the recovery march in the province of Pinar del Río, after the passage of Hurricane Ian.

In the municipality of La Palma, it was learned that 32 percent of the damages to the house due to the hydrometeorological event have been solved, with priority in partial roofing.

Pavel Luis Rodríguez Zamora, mayor, explained that they have the wood to advance in the construction of houses of type IV, while they already have 26 in production.

Valdés Mesa called for an effort to produce elements from clay, taking into account local potential.

He insisted, in this sense, on the use of endogenous resources in order to advance in compensation for Ian's damages, since the municipality constitutes the most important political, economic and social scenario.

Accompanied by the authorities of the Party and the Government in the province, starting this Thursday the Cuban Vice President toured several municipalities and is also interested in improving the local organs of People's Power.
