Today is the day of "Ramstein" - and defense news for Ukraine, which our diplomatic marathon brings week after week.

It is not always possible to publicly announce what is being discussed in the Ramstein format.

This is a closed discussion - and it should be.

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, announced this in an evening video message on January 20.

"In general, we can conclude that today's Ramstein will strengthen our stability. The partners are principled in their attitude - they will support Ukraine as much as it is necessary for our victory," the president said.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that we will still have to fight for the supply of modern tanks, but every day we make it more obvious that there is no alternative, that a decision regarding tanks must be made.

"I thank all partners who clearly supported the Ukrainian position in the discussions that took place," he said.

In general, according to the president, it was possible to achieve several things during the week.

This is what our diplomatic marathon, which has been going on since my visit to Washington, has produced.

"Calls and negotiations - daily. Public and non-public. We managed to significantly strengthen our artillery fist. Very heavily - both with guns and shells. There are good results in terms of armored vehicles - several hundred combat vehicles have been added to our arsenal. Significant results in terms of rockets for jet systems and for our anti-aircraft fighters," he added.

Zelensky reported that one of the largest defense packages was announced by the United States.

"And I thank President Biden for him, all congressmen, all Americans who know that freedom cannot lose," the president said.

Volodymyr Zelensky thanked the European allies – all the countries that this week took further steps in supporting our common defense.

"Denmark, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, Great Britain, Finland, the Netherlands and others - thank you! Thank you to Canada and personally to Prime Minister Trudeau!" - said the country's leader.

"The only thing worth emphasizing in all of this is the time, the delivery time. Each agreement must be implemented as quickly as possible - for our defense," Zelenskyy emphasized.

The president added that the next week, for which he and his team are already preparing, should also bear its defensive fruits.

It will be recalled that on January 20, the eighth Ramstein-format international meeting on military aid to Ukraine was held at the American Ramstein Air Base in Germany, which brought together representatives of the defense departments of more than 50 countries.
