Criminalizing the refusal of drivers of motor vehicles to be checked for drugs is provided for by changes in the Penal Code adopted in the first reading.

The MPs adopted the GERB-SDS bill for changes to the Penal Code (PC), introduced by Hristo Terziyski, to criminalize the refusal of drivers of motor vehicles to be checked for the use of narcotic substances or their analogues.

Such refusal should be equated with established use of narcotic substances or their analogues and punished accordingly.

A second group of changes aimed to remove the control card from the motor vehicle driving license in order to reduce the administrative burden on drivers.

At the first vote, the Parliament adopted a total of eight draft laws for changes in the NK.

The Revival bill closes a legislative loophole where the scene of the accident is not explicitly stated as a qualifying feature of the crime, except for "committed on a crosswalk."

The changes introduce heavier penalties for acts when the motor vehicle enters areas outside the roadway where there are pedestrians - sidewalks, public transport stops, etc.

The draft law of the BSP states that there is an objective need to make changes in the severity of the provided punishments.

It was noted that cases from recent months of causing the death of Ministry of Internal Affairs officials in the performance of their official duties can be cited with additional weight.

It is argued that increasing the penalty of "imprisonment", the amount of the fine and providing for the confiscation of all the property of the perpetrator will have an effect in terms of the prevention of this type of crime.

The Parliament adopted in the first reading four out of a total of five bills for changes to the Roads Act

The second bill for changes to the Criminal Code of "Vazrazhdane" is related to the need to foresee criminal liability for cases of human trafficking across our border.

It is proposed to include new sanctions, such as the temporary confiscation of the motor vehicle used for such illegal activity and its suspension from traffic.

With another bill, Kornelia Ninova from the left is considered for two groups of crimes - crimes related to child pornography and driving a motor vehicle after using alcohol with a concentration in the blood of more than 2 per thousand, established in the proper order, or when the permitted speed is exceeded by more than 50 km/h.

The bill of "Continuing the change" foresees an increase in the penalties for illegal fishing and sets a specific threshold for violations in the forests, in view of the established contradictory practice in the work of control and judicial authorities.

With a bill to amend and supplement the Penal Code, introduced by Hamid Hamid from the DPS, it is envisaged that the requirement of systematicity will be removed from the definition of a crime committed under the conditions of domestic violence.

This is expected to lead to the expansion of measures to protect against domestic violence and the implementation of a more effective state policy in the fight against it.

The draft law of Desislava Atanasova from GERB-SDS proposes an increase in the amount of sanctions for anyone who enters or exits the country's border without permission from the appropriate authorities, or even with permission, but not through the designated places.

Now the punishment is imprisonment for up to five years and a fine of one hundred to three hundred BGN, notes BTA.
