The Netherlands

is ready to consider the transfer of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine, if a corresponding request comes from the Ukrainian authorities.

This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, Wopke Hoekstra, NL Times informs.

"The Cabinet of Ministers of the Netherlands will consider the possibility of supplying Ukraine with F-16 fighter jets, if the Ukrainian government asks for it," the publication quotes the head of the country's Foreign Ministry, Wopke Hoekstra.

The minister also added that there is "no taboo" on the supply of conventional equipment.

According to the mass media, he made such a statement during the parliamentary debate on Thursday, January 19.

It should be noted that the F-16 aircraft is a light multipurpose fighter from the USA of the fourth generation.

Despite its rather respectable age, because the F-16 was created 48 years ago, it still remains the basis of the air forces of many countries around the world.

In particular, thanks to its constant modernization.
