US Ambassador to the OSCE Michael Carpenter assured that the decision of the Netherlands to transfer its F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine will meet with broad support in the United States.

The American diplomat said this in an interview with Delfi.

"We have long been of the opinion that what our allies supply is their business.

And we support the countless contributions [to defense] that our allies have made for Ukraine.

", he emphasized.

According to the ambassador, this position of the USA was the same when at the beginning of the war the supply of military equipment inherited from the Soviet era, which remained in some European countries, was discussed, and now, when it comes to main battle tanks and more complex means and systems of anti-aircraft and anti-missile defense.

"I expect the United States to have broad support from our allies who will continue to step up their contributions," Carpenter said.
