Ukraine's army is losing three-digit numbers of soldiers every day, the BND intelligence service told a group of Bundestag lawmakers focusing on security at a secret meeting this week, Spiegel said, citing intelligence.

B&D warned that the capture of Bakhmut by Russian forces would have significant consequences as it would allow Russia to continue to advance.

According to the service, the Russian army is using its own soldiers as cannon fodder in Bakhmut, Spiegel adds.

The German publication also dwells on the situation in Moscow after reports of deployment of air defense systems in the Russian capital.

The Kremlin did not comment on the matter.

"On this matter, I would refer you to the Ministry of Defense," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said to a question from journalists, the Interfax news agency reported, citing Spiegel.

The ministry is responsible for all security-related matters, he said.

Late last night, photos of Pantsir-S anti-aircraft systems appeared on various Internet portals.

The authenticity of the photos has not been officially confirmed, notes BTA.
