The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemns the statement of the head of the Foreign Ministry of Russia's aggressor

, in which he compared the international isolation of the Russian Federation due to the war against Ukraine with the killing of Jews in Europe during the Holocaust.

Such a comparison will not help Moscow avoid punishment.

This was stated by the press secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleg Nikolenko.

According to him, the agency condemns the "shameful statement that tarnishes the memory of millions of victims of the Holocaust."

"The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation compared the Russians, who are waging a war of aggression, with millions of Jews killed by the Nazis during the Holocaust. It turns out that it is not Russian rockets that are shooting residential buildings in Ukraine, but the West formed a coalition to solve the "Russian question", - the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized .

He noted that the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dmytro Kuleba, had already drawn attention to the "deeply rooted anti-Semitism of the Russian elites."

Modern Russia is full of hatred for other peoples, added Nikolenko, and also called on the world to react to another statement by Lavrov.

"At the Nuremberg Tribunal, Foreign Minister Ribbentrop denied his participation in the crimes of the Nazis, but this did not help him avoid punishment. Just as Lavrov will not avoid punishment by presenting himself and Russia as a victim," Nikolenko concluded.

National Security Council spokesman John Kirby called it offensive: "It's so absurd that there's no response to it other than the really offensive way in which he tried to frame us in terms of Hitler and the Holocaust.

Israel also condemned such views of Lavrov.

The European Jewish Congress said it was "shocked" by the comments.

"This is a distortion of the Holocaust at the most basic level. We call on Lavrov to apologize unequivocally and retract these comments," Congress President Ariel Musicant emphasized.

What Lavrov said again

The day before, during his annual press conference, Lavrov compared the actions of the United States and allies in helping Ukraine to "Hitler's actions during the Second World War. 

"Just as Napoleon mobilized practically all of Europe against the Russian Empire, as Hitler mobilized and captured, put most of the European countries under the gun and threw them against the Soviet Union, now the USA has formed a coalition of almost all Europeans included in NATO and not only , from the EU members and through Ukraine are waging a war against our country by proxy with the same task - the final solution of the "Russian question", - said the minister of the aggressor of the Russian Federation.

According to him, "just as Hitler wanted to finally solve the "Jewish question", now, if you read Western politicians not only from Poland and the Baltic States, but also much more intelligent ones, they unequivocally say that Russia must suffer a strategic defeat."

By the way, this is not the first time that the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs allows himself cynical statements.
