Forecasters are warning that after several days of dangerously strong southerly winds and unusually high temperatures for the season, torrential downpours of rain, cold and snow are ahead.

With very strong at times and stormy gusts, the wind will remain throughout the country in the afternoon hours, especially on the northern slopes of the mountains, reports BNT.

It will be even warmer than yesterday, with maximum temperatures in most areas between 16 and 23 degrees.

Rainfall will begin in the evening in the western parts of the country, which will cover almost the entire country tomorrow.

A warning for significant amounts of precipitation has been announced in the western half, and in the eastern half, a strong southerly wind will continue to blow and the maximum there will remain at around 18-20 degrees.

Colder air will invade from the northwest, temperatures will begin to drop, and in the evening in many places in the western regions of the country, the rain will turn to snow.

Snow cover will also form.

It will remain very windy in the mountains with strong and gusty southerly winds.

After noon, the wind will weaken and in the massifs of Western and Central Bulgaria it will be oriented from the west-northwest.

It will be mostly cloudy and with precipitation, over 1000 meters of snow, with more significant ones in the Rilo-Rhodope massif.

There are also conditions for blizzards.

After a temporary stop over the weekend, it will rain again, mostly lightly.

On Saturday, there will be both rain and snow in Western Bulgaria, in Eastern Bulgaria, where a strong southerly wind will continue to blow - only rain.

On Sunday, rain will fall mainly in the eastern half of the country.

Temperatures will drop, more significantly in the northwestern half of the country.
