In the event of Russia's defeat in the war against Ukraine, the plans of the aggressor country will remain unchanged, said the head of the NATO Military Committee, Admiral Rob Bauer.

Bauer said this at a press conference following the meeting of the committee at the level of chiefs of the general staff.

The representative of the Alliance answered a question about how NATO's calculations regarding a potential conflict with the Russian Federation are affected by the fact that Russian forces are being depleted in the war with Ukraine.

"I think all countries agree on the fact that

regardless of the outcome of the war, the Russians will most likely have similar ambitions

. Even if they lose the war with Ukraine, they will continue to have the same ambitions. And for this reason, the threat does not disappear." , said the admiral.

He informed that in the war against Ukraine, Russia exhausted some of its forces, ammunition, tanks, BMP and artillery systems.

"The general view is that the

Russians will rebuild what they had

. They will also learn from this conflict and try to improve what they had," Bauer warned.

According to him, such a situation will affect NATO's future plans.

The only question that remains is how quickly the Russian Federation will be able to restore its pre-war potential and improve it.

"They were not very successful in this when they invaded Ukraine. It will take time. And whether

it is a period of three to five years

or three to ten years is something that we should talk about together. This will be studied by the intelligence services," said the head of the Alliance's Military Committee.

We will remind you that the West wants Russian President Vladimir Putin to suffer a major, inevitable defeat in the war against Ukraine, on the level of what Nazi Germany experienced in 1945.

That is why Western partners became more active in providing military aid to Ukraine.

This opinion was expressed by Oleksandr Motyl, professor of political sciences at Rathgarh University, USA.

Note that the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, during his speech at the Davos event, said that membership in NATO would be the "best guarantee of security" for the state, but Russia is doing everything possible to prevent this.
