The State Animal Husbandry Department has prepared a plan to increase egg production in the state, a senior official informed on Tuesday.

According to reports, Maharashtra consumes more than 2.25 crore eggs daily and there is a shortage of one crore eggs every day.

Additional Commissioner of Animal Husbandry Department, Dr. Dhananjay Parkale told PTI-Bhasha that the department is planning to meet the needs of the state.
