Temperature change trend during the Spring Festival.

[Reporter Ding Yi/Taipei Report] Tomorrow (19) is the New Year's Eve. Lin Bingyu, director of the forecast center of the Central Meteorological Administration, said that the weather changes rapidly during the Spring Festival, changing every two to three days. Changes will usher in the coldest period from the second to the fourth day of the Spring Festival. In the past few days, affected by the strong continental air mass or cold current, the temperature has dropped significantly. The temperature has risen from the fifth to the sixth day. Cool down.

Lin Bingyu said that due to the influence of the northeast monsoon on New Year's Eve, the northern and Yihua areas turned cooler, and the temperature difference in the central and southern regions was large. In the northeast, there were some short-term rains, and the central and southern regions were mostly cloudy to sunny.

On New Year's Eve and the first day of the new year, the northeast monsoon weakened, and the temperature rose, leaving only the eastern half and the greater Taipei area with occasional short-term rain.

Lin Bingyu pointed out that the second, third, and fourth grades of junior high school are affected by strong cold air masses or cold currents, and even the central and southern regions will feel the obvious chill. The current minimum temperature is predicted to be 10-12 degrees, which may reach the level of cold currents.

The third and fourth days of junior high school are the coldest two days of the Spring Festival. If the moisture and temperature cooperate, there is a chance of snowfall in the northern mountains.

Lin Bingyu said that the cold air mass weakened on the fifth and sixth day, and the temperature rose slightly, but the seventh and eighth day were affected by another wave of northeast monsoon.

Lin Bingyu reminded that people must pay attention to the temperature difference when traveling from south to north during the Spring Festival, and morning fog is easy to appear in the early morning, affecting visibility, so pay attention to driving safety.

The open coastal areas, Kinmen, Matsu, and Penghu are prone to strong gusts of wind, and there may be relatively large waves in the waters adjacent to Taiwan. People should pay attention to the information on ferry schedules to outlying islands.
