The self-proclaimed president of Belarus, Oleksandr Lukashenko, at a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Minsk, said that Ukraine pleasantly surprised him because it does not engage in any provocations against Belarus, although the West seems to be "actively encouraging" it to do so.

A fragment of the conversation between the Belarusian dictator and Putin's henchman was published by the "Pul Pervogo" Telegram channel.

During this conversation, Lukashenko summarized the events of the past year for the first time.

"Attempts to strangle us - Russia and Belarus - failed," he commented on the sanctions and the economic rapprochement of the two countries.

In a conversation with Lavrov, Lukashenko also said that Ukraine "is being tried to be used against Belarus."

"But what surprises me and pleasantly surprises me is that Ukraine restrains itself, does not make any provocations against Belarus, although this is actively promoted by our Western neighbors, you know who," - the Belarusian dictator made an unexpected compliment.
