[Reporter Cai Sipei/Taipei Report] "Light Source Taipei-2023 Taiwan Lantern Festival in Taipei" will be staged. This year, the main light of the event will be located at the Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall, and the central exhibition area will include the Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall and Beishifu Square.

The Taipei Municipal Bureau of Transportation plans paid shuttle buses and free rehabilitation buses around the exhibition area. During the Lantern Festival, Taipei MRT and Taipei City buses will also increase their frequency to carry passengers.

"Light Source Taipei-2023 Taiwan Lantern Festival in Taipei" will be held from February 5th to February 19th. This event plans four major exhibition areas: the central exhibition area, the light exhibition area, the source exhibition area and the future exhibition area, covering the Trans-Father Memorial Hall, Taipei The city hall, East District commercial district, Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, Xinyi Commercial District, Sisi South Village, and the 12 administrative districts of Taipei City also have lamp districts.

The MRT Bannan Line and Tamsui-Xinyi Line around the main light area will increase the class spacing from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and the Bannan Line will pass by the Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall without stopping depending on the crowds, and arrange empty trains to Shifu Station to start carrying passengers ( Dingpu direction), and the entrance and exit control will be carried out according to the crowd; the section train between Tamsui Xinyi Line and Daan Station will also be extended to Xiangshan Station.

During the Lantern Festival, 7 YouBike stations including Taipei City Hall, City Hall Songshou Intersection, Renai Yixian Intersection, City Hall Songgao Intersection, Songzhi Songshou Intersection, Civic Square, and MRT Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall will also suspend operations. Bicycle racks around the City Hall will also be canceled, and sidewalks will be banned from riding bicycles.

The Taipei Municipal Transportation Bureau also launched a 2-line Lantern Festival shuttle bus in the exhibition area and Songshan Station. The bus schedule is 5 to 10 minutes during peak hours, and ordinary, student, and military and police tickets are 5 yuan. Commuter tickets and other types of tickets are free.

There are also 5 free rehabilitation bus service stations planned around the Lantern Festival exhibition area to connect disadvantaged groups to enjoy lanterns for free. The public can call 0809-080650 to make an appointment.

The surrounding traffic will also be controlled during the Lantern Festival. Xinrenai Road (Shifu-Road 1) will be closed until February 23; Shifu Road (Songgao-Songshou) will be closed from February 4th, On the 11th, 12th, 18th, and 19th, the lantern viewing crowd will be closed and controlled from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm.

From February 1st to 19th, Civic Avenue (Fudun Section), Civic Avenue (Dunyan Section), Civic Avenue (Yanji Section), Songshan High School Underground Parking Lot, Qiaoan Underground Parking Lot, Fuqian Square Underground Parking Lot, Zhongxin Underground Parking Lot The parking rate of 9 parking lots including Songshou Plaza Underground Parking Lot and Xinyi Plaza Underground Parking Lot will also be adjusted to 50 to 60 yuan per hour.

Since the Taiwan Lantern Festival does not have a dedicated parking lot, the Bureau of Transportation recommends that people who drive by themselves park their vehicles in a large parking lot outside, and then transfer to public transportation to enjoy the lanterns.
