The French sister Andre, who was the oldest person in the world since April 2022, died yesterday in a nursing home in Toulon, southern France, France Press reported.

"She died at 2 a.m. We are very sad, but she wanted it, her wish was to go to her beloved brother. For her, it was liberation," explained David Tavela, the spokesperson of the nursing home.



Sister Andre was born Lucille Randon on February 11, 1904, in Alès, southern France.

"They say work kills, but it's work that keeps me alive, I worked until I was 108," she said in April 2022, when she was announced as the world's oldest person.

No official body awards the title doyen of humanity, but experts are unanimous that Sister Andre was the oldest documented living person, writes BTA.
