A meeting between the defense ministers of Ukraine and Canada took place in Kyiv.

Oleksiy Reznikov and Anita Anand held a joint press conference after the negotiations.

This was reported by the correspondent of TSN.ua.

"Today we talked about the next stages of support for Ukraine by the people and the government of Canada. After all, our joint plan is to win this war. From Canada, we receive help in the form of armored vehicles and the UNIFAIR project - for the training of our fighters, we receive video cameras. And for now, a big step is acquisition of the NASAMS air defense system. Minister of Veterans Affairs Yulia Laputina and Commander of the Medical Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Tetyana Ostashchenko were also present at today's meeting and spoke with Ms. Anita. We checked the clocks for the next meeting in the Ramshteim format. We also agreed on a common position on some needs for the Armed Forces in the security and defense sector," said Oleksiy Reznikov.

In turn, Canada's Minister of National Defense Anita Anand recalled that she was in Kyiv less than a year ago.

And also expressed the support of Ukraine from the people of Canada.

"We stand by you. And over the past months, we have provided military aid to Ukraine - howitzers, 39 armored vehicles. The last thing we plan to do is to purchase the NASAMS air defense system for Ukraine. Our military aid is more than 1 billion dollars, and all of Canada provided $5 billion in aid to Ukraine. We will continue to support you. We have announced the next aid package, which is over 200 Senator armored vehicles manufactured by Rochel at a cost of CAD 90 million. These are multi-tasking medical vehicles and have an increased level of safety. They are extremely maneuverable and can be easily adapted for other needs - medical evacuations, military and cargo transport," said Anita Anand.

It should be noted that, according to the Minister of Defense of Canada, the new package of military aid to Ukraine is a response to a specific request.

We would like to add that with the acquisition of the NASAMS air defense system, Ukraine will be able to significantly increase its air defense capabilities not only quantitatively, but also qualitatively.
