Andrey Novakov, a Bulgarian politician from the GERB party and MEP in the European People's Group, called on the European Prosecutor's Office to deal with the investigation published in Bulgaria and the possible connection of the Nexo company and financial donations to the "Yes, Bulgaria" party, the press center of GERB announced.

This happened during a debate of the European Parliament in Strasbourg, dedicated to the protection of the financial interests of the European Union and the fight against fraud.

“Organized crime is not what we remember from the 1990s or Hollywood movies.

Today, its main actors may be neat and educated young people with the right diplomas, who offer innovative and modern products," said Novakov.

"The shiny office, the cool website, the smiling young faces are just the packaging.

From the inside, there can still be money laundering, financial fraud, circumvention of sanctions against Russia," he added.

Novakov called on the European institutions not to act selectively, to check the case and show that there is no double standard and the interest of the European voter is above all else.
